Engagement with the community is the cornerstone of neighbourhood planning – from raising awareness of the idea of preparing a plan, through early contacts with residents and stakeholders, to more detailed consultations on emerging proposals, through formal stages and finally to public referendum.
Evidence and results of consultations will be submitted as part of the required Consultations Statement to support the Plan. Indeed during the development of this neighbourhood plan, we are conducting major public consultations with residents, plus using social media and other methods to make sure everyone has the opportunity to share their views. We have also held meetings with local people, amenity groups, businesses, land owners and other stakeholders. All these will inform the content of the OnwardPlan in order to reflect the views of the majority of the community in an a democratic way.
After all, it’s your Neighbourhood Plan.
